Railport has successfully received and completed the unloading operations of the train carrying 216 finished imported vehicles belonging to Ford Otosan. With this milestone, the terminal has taken an important step forward in the field of finished vehicle logistics by rail.

The operation, carried out at Railport—which offers sustainable and integrated intermodal terminal services—was executed in cooperation with Mars Logistics as the logistics service provider, KoçZer for strategic procurement and process management, Körfez Ulaştırma for train transport operations, and Transwaggon Group for wagon supply.

The safe and efficient unloading of Ford Otosan’s vehicles once again demonstrated the high operational performance rail transport can deliver in finished vehicle logistics.

Covering a total area of 22,000 square meters and equipped with a parking zone with a capacity of 1,563 vehicles, Railport offers the sector a strong operational infrastructure. Thanks to ramps specially designed for vehicle handling, import and export processes at the terminal are accelerated and conducted with high levels of safety.

Railport’s integrated terminal structure increases efficiency in logistics processes while also contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions. With a model centered on the environmental advantages of rail transport, the terminal continues to pursue its goal of providing sustainable and long‑term solutions for finished vehicle logistics.

About Railport

Railport is a new‑generation intermodal logistics terminal established through a partnership between Arkas—one of Turkey’s leading international holding companies—and duisport, Europe’s largest intermodal logistics terminal operator. Located in Kocaeli Kartepe and recognized as a first of its kind in Turkey, the terminal stands out with its 265,000 square meters of total area, its dryport structure integrating both rail and road transport, and its modern infrastructure suitable for vehicle handling.

Positioned in alignment with the Trans‑Asian Railway Network under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Railport integrates rail corridors extending to the Middle East, Russia, Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Georgia with the logistics flow between Turkey and Europe. With the commissioning of the Baku–Tbilisi–Kars railway line and the opening of the Marmaray Tunnel to freight transport, the terminal has become a major logistics hub offering direct connections to trade routes stretching from China to Europe.

Thanks to this strategic positioning, Railport effectively serves not only import and export cargo but also transit transportation.
