Arkas Line successfully completed its first-ever shipment from India by dispatching a total of 129 forty-foot reefer containers to Nhava Sheva and Mundra ports using three block trains from two ICDs in the Delhi region and one ICD in Kanpur.

The consolidation of cargo from trains, each carrying 43 containers, into a single vessel represents a rare and significant logistics operation within India’s container transportation sector.

Arkas Line offers comprehensive logistics solutions by extending its services beyond port connections to inland logistics networks across India. Within this framework, three block train departures were planned from two ICDs in the Delhi region and one ICD in Kanpur.

Each train carried 43 reefer containers, totaling 129 containers, which were transported to Nhava Sheva and Mundra ports. All cargo was consolidated onto a single vessel, marking a noteworthy achievement in terms of planning and cargo flow coordination.

Strong Coordination in Reefer Transportation

Tümay Ulutaş, Country Director of Arkas Line India, who attended the train departure ceremony together with executives from Parekh Marine, emphasized that timing, equipment continuity, and operational coordination are critical factors in handling temperature-controlled cargo.

Ulutaş stated that synchronizing reefer block trains from three different locations in India with port operations and consolidating the cargo under a single vessel is a rare organizational achievement in India’s container transport sector.

“This operation demonstrates that Arkas Line provides not only transportation capacity but also strong coordination, reliable flow management, and solution-oriented capabilities,” Ulutaş added.

Integrated Sea–Rail Logistics Network in India

With its expansion into India, Arkas Line has strengthened its global service network, establishing a strong logistics corridor between the Mediterranean, the Red Sea, and India.

Under the India Med Service (IMS), the company serves Nhava Sheva and Mundra ports, connecting these gateways to inland trade hubs via railway networks.

Arkas Line’s operations in India combine maritime services through Nhava Sheva and Mundra with inland logistics connections extending to key locations such as Dadri and Kanpur.

This integrated sea-rail structure enhances operational efficiency, particularly for time- and temperature-sensitive cargo.
