Türkiye's E‑Commerce Volume Reached 10.6 Trillion TL in Five Years

Türkiye’s digital commerce ecosystem has achieved strong growth momentum over the past five years. According to data from the “Türkiye E‑Commerce Outlook Report 2025” published by the Ministry of Trade, e‑commerce volume increased nearly twelvefold during the 2021–2025 period, reaching TRY 10 trillion 603 billion.
The digitalization process, which accelerated with the COVID‑19 pandemic, led to lasting changes in consumer behavior. During this period, the significant increase in the number of e‑commerce platforms, the expansion of product variety, and the widespread adoption of mobile access made online shopping more accessible to broader segments of the population.
In parallel, Türkiye’s total e‑commerce volume was recorded at TRY 381 billion in 2021, rising to TRY 800 billion in 2022 and reaching TRY 1 trillion 855 billion in 2023. The growth trend continued in 2024, with e‑commerce volume reaching the TRY 3 trillion level. In 2025, it climbed to an all‑time high of TRY 4 trillion 567 billion.
Number of E‑Commerce Transactions Approached 26 Billion
Over the five‑year period, total e‑commerce volume reached TRY 10 trillion 603 billion. Of this amount, TRY 5 trillion 757 billion was generated by retail e‑commerce activities.
Alongside the increase in e‑commerce volume, a steady rise was also observed in the number of transactions. The number of e‑commerce transactions, which stood at 3.34 billion in 2021, increased to 4.79 billion in 2022 and reached 5.87 billion in 2023.
Although a relative slowdown in the pace of growth was seen over the past two years, 5.91 billion transactions were recorded in 2024 and 5.94 billion in 2025. As a result, the total number of e‑commerce transactions during the 2021–2025 period amounted to 25.85 billion.
E‑Commerce Volume Exceeded USD 115 Billion in Dollar Terms
When analyzed in foreign currency terms, Türkiye’s e‑commerce transaction volume stood at USD 43.07 billion in 2021 and rose to USD 115.43 billion in 2025. Over the five‑year period, the total transaction volume in dollar terms was recorded at USD 373.6 billion.
